Cropping
We run a continuous cropping rotation of canola, wheat and barley.
All operations run through John Deere GPS and auto‑steer, with the John Deere Operations Center used to monitor performance and efficiency. Variable rate is used across seeding and spreading to optimise inputs.
Our cropping team includes Jye, another full time Cropping Person along with seasonal casuals who assist during seeding and harvest.
Seeding: John Deere RX9570 Quad Track Tractor, 60ft Ausplow DBS and 17000L Simplicity Air Cart
Spraying: Agrifac Endurance Condor II with 48m boom and Hardi 8500L Terraforce pulled by Fendt 936 Vario Tractor.
Spreading: Bredal K10 Multispreader with Arag Variable Rate Technology
Rock Picking: Degelman Rock Picker, CAT950 Loader and Dump Truck for the bigger jobs.
Harvest: 3 x John Deere headers (2 × S680 and 1 × 9870), supported by a Fendt 936 towing a 36T Coolamon chaser bin.
We take pride in well‑maintained, clean machinery and a smooth, efficient harvest program. During seeding and harvest, evening meals are provided, and once a week in harvest we stop together for a fresh paddock meal and watch the sunset as a team.
Seeding usually starts 10th March and runs through until around Mid May. We generally like to have our casual staff arrive at the start of March to help get things ready and stay around until June once everything is washed and put away.
Harvest usually starts end of October and we always aim to finish by Christmas (weather dependant.) We usually like our casual staff to start early October to help get things ready and finish once harvest is completed and the machines are washed and put away.
There is always casual work that carries on through June to August such spreading, rock picking and spraying.
